Nov 08, 2005 Weekly Water Saving Tip
Last Updated: 2005-11-08 11:11:29
Irrigation is every 10 to 14 days. If by chance these clouds send some moisture this week, check your soil before turning the irrigation system on. Nature may provide enough moisture or you may have to add a little more through your sprinkler system.
Just a reminder, it is still too early to prune deciduous trees. This is true of any shade trees as well as any fruit trees. You want the tree to be as close to dormancy as possible before you do any pruning. The months of January and February are still the best times to look at pruning any shrubs or trees in the landscape. The later the pruning the greater the chance your trees will be able to survive the winter without any damage.
On Saturday, November 19 — A workshop on How to Maintain Desert Plants. Will be held at the Tonaquint Nature Center at 10 a.m. Everyone’s been planting desert plants, so now attend this class and learn how to take of them through all the seasons. The workshop is free, but space is limited, so please call and reserve your spot.
